The Moab, Utah area is filled with hundreds of sites close to town. Some of the sites can be seen easily by way of an auto tour which the city of Moab promotes. The majority of sites though are not part of the auto tour and require a bit of hiking. The images on this page (which only include some, but not all, of the photos I took) were taken on the auto tour and as part of a Rock Art Tour run by Canyon Voyages Adventure Company. They did a great job of showing me some of the more difficult to reach panels.
The auto tour primarily includes sites along Kane Creek Boulevard and Potash Road. Additional rock art at the Moab Golf Course and Arches National Park (Courthouse Wash and Wolfe Ranch) complete the tour.
The cultural traditions in this area include the Archaic, Anasazi, Fremont, and Ute. The Archaic Barrier Canyon Style rock art in the area especially interested me.
All images taken with a Digital Rebel XT with various L lenses.
