I decided it was finally time to set up a black and white gallery. I have done B&W before but my conversions were a bit lackluster. It was finally time to take this seriously and put some time into my B&W conversions. Here are the results of that effort. I guess it would be a cliche to say that Ansel Adams was a big influence but he was. A high degree of contrast and tonal separation spanning from white to black characterize most of these photos. Blues are generally presented as dark tones and red, yellow, and green as light. The Black and White adjustment layer introduced in CS3 was what I primarily used for conversion. I then went through the usual process of dodging and burning, selective noise removal or film grain addition, general cleanup, creative vignette additions, and sharpening.
