Factory Butte is right outside Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. I originally only intended on getting a photo or two over a sunset and sunrise period but I ended up getting enough material to open a gallery. Before sunset I ended up heading to the northwest side of the butte (which is quite large by the way measuring almost a mile in length and rising almost 1300 feet above the valley floor) by way of a six mile round trip hike from my parking area along the road. This proved to be a challenge due to the large amount of badland hills that had to be crossed. After sunset I returned to the car to do some night photography. After shooting sunrise I headed off to Capitol Reef NP.
