For a 10 day period in March of 2007 my Dad and I took a road trip from our home in Idaho to a number of areas. We first went to Merced CA where my sister moved (we also visited Castle Air Museum which is in the area). We then went to LA where we both worked as background actors for the series ER. We visited relatives in Simi Valley as well. We then spent several days in Joshua Tree National Park.
We took a few hikes while in Joshua Tree NP. One was to the top of Ryan Mountain. It was a three mile hike. We then hiked to an old abandoned mine. After that we simply drove around. One interesting area of the park is the Cholla Cactus Garden.
After leaving Joshua Tree NP we headed to Phoenix AZ and Luke AFB to attend an airshow. We then headed to Bryce Canyon in UT and then headed home.
