These images were taken at the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site (New Mexico) in November 2007 and October 2014. These petroglyphs were created by the Jornada Mogollon people about 600-1000 years ago. The rock art is located on a one mile ridge and there are over 21,000 petroglyphs. It's a pretty astonishing little place. There is a 1/2 mile trail starting at one end of the ridge but I found the best stuff by going cross-country to the other side of the ridge. This allowed me to take photos of some great petroglyphs that most people who visit this site don't see. I saw thousands of petroglyphs here.
All images taken with a Digital Rebel XT with various L lenses.
Fabulous collection of photos from this very interesting ancient site. Thanks for posting. I've just learned about Three Rivers and was searching for their unique rock art images. Yours are the best.
I've bookmarked your site and look forward to checking your other galleries.
