Burda 8860, an out-of-print pattern for a classic shirt, dates from 2000, and cannot have been popular as there is little trace of it on the internet. My fabric is Margaret Annie by Liberty of London in grey and green.
Although bust darts are not shown in the diagrams, larger sizes of this pattern do include bust darts as well as vertical darts in the front and back. The front band is separate and has to be attached rather than folded over, which is a nuisance because it is difficult to achieve a perfect finish where the band meets the hem. The sleeve has a faced slit rather than a full placket.
The fit in the bust is good but less so in the hip, where I should have added more ease.
Now I have made a second version of this shirt, adding ease equal to one size larger to the sides, front and back. This method was inspired by a Sandra Betzina fitting tip given with one of her Vogue patterns. Thank you, Sandra Betzina! The fabric is another Liberty lawn, a design called Lucy Locket.
