I have large collections of Roman mosaics at (this one included) at: Gaziantep Zeugma Museum; Istanbul mosaics museum; Mosaics in the Casale Villa in Sicily; Adana mosaics; Antakya Museum gallery, Haleplibahçe Mosaics Museum in Urfa.
Often it is hard to take pictures of mosaics in museums. In many cases they are put against a wall, and as they can be large, it is like looking up to a very big painting. Often they are lit by just some spotlights, causing overly lit parts here, underexposed parts there. I have come across cases where even the colour temperature of lights differed (in the pictures presented here there are a few where artificial light mixed with light reflecting from a touristic picture on the wall - a nice beach, but I could have done without it -, again causing differences in that arena. Also reflections from differently coloured walls may cause problems). Overall conditions in the Adana displays are favourable. Light is generally even, and as one walks on elevated “bridges” (with glass floors, so even the parts below, often less interesting, are visible), in the cases where the mosaics are on the walls, one is on about even height, so distortion due to a difference in height is negligible.

The majority of the mosaics, some of them as large as the floors of the churches they once were in, are lying on the floor. The bridges are high enough to be able to correct for much of the distortion caused by parts being farther away than others. In some cases the mosaic is simply too large.

I generally correct, as far as I can, to present a (part of a) mosaic as if seen from high above the centre, a birds eye’s view. In cases where this is impossible I may chose to accept all distortion and show it “as found”. In other cases I show two versions, one corrected, the other “as found”. I used a new camera that I trust to be very true in colour, so I edited colours to a minimum, if at all. The light intensity various somewhat between different pictures, as angle, lens, amount of correction and maybe even local light conditions vary, and I find it impossible to match it all over. Mosaics of which I had many pictures I gave a sub-gallery (name in bold script).
I expect to return, and too have learned in the mean time, so some future pictures may be better. For the time being, this is the best I could produce.
