Cape York Peninsula in the north of Queensland, Australia, remains one of the world's great frontiers, a vast tropical savanna with seemingly endless floodplains and wetlands and Australia's largest remaining patch of lowland rainforest.
Lakefield National Park is a mostly flat landscape of 537,000 ha (5,370 square km) centred on the floodplains of the Normanby and North Kennedy Rivers extending to the coast of Princess Charlotte Bay.
This gallery is of photos taken on a 7-day journey in late May 2013. I camped for 3 days in the national park and for 3 days on an adjacent cattle station.

Large Park with lots of grasslands; not seeing many bird or fish photos, but the Park seems to have a pretty diverse landscape
