To most of us, even including some who live in New Jersey, the name Newark only means the international airport. It's not bias to say that we seldom hear nice things about the city of Newark itself. I decided to display this beautiful side of the town to open your eyes.
There's a huge park in Newark - Branch Brook Park, where you'll see more than 2,000 cherry blossom trees, even more than what they have in Washington D.C. Their gorgeous Cathedral Basilica of Sacred Heart (in photos 7-9), would make you feel you're in Europe.
If you were there at the peak of their cherry blossoms, you would marvel at the scene before your eyes, patches and patches of pink mixed with the other pastel colours. I believe this arrival is the softest landing Newark has known - the arrival of Spring.
I always think that, in the US, cherry blossoms can be found only in Washington DC. Thanks for enlightening me. Pretty pictures with beautiful colour and good composition.
