My tour of Iceland provided sightseeing in the south and west of the country, where most of the tourist attractions with easy access are located. Iceland has a lot to offer as far as landscape is concerned. My personal favourite spots are Jökulsárlón (the glacial lagoon) and Djúpalónssandur (the black pebble beach) where you'll find huge rock formation in amazing shapes and colours. I had nice weather in these two regions, which in a way contributed to the factor why I liked them more.

There were rainy days, but at least I did not use my umbrella everyday in Iceland, like I did in Norway. I was greeted by heavy downpour and strong wind when my group visited the gigantic and stunning waterfall Gullfoss as well as the geysir area. It was muddy and slippery everywhere. In the geysir area I simply had to give up, having to fight to hold the umbrella to cover my camera during the 30-minute walk from the entrance to the exit which was too long in bad weather but too short had it been sunny. As a result, the geysir area was my biggest disappointment. I had to comfort myself by thinking that it was okay, for I had seen the best in Yellowstone, or I can see them on my next trip, if I'd return to Iceland for the Northern Light.
