Creatively Repurposed Buildings on Capitol Hill

We've owned a house on Capitol Hill for 30 years now, and although the majority of that time was spent living overseas, I've always enjoyed the time we've been home in this wonderful neighborhood. Whenever we return to Washington, I marvel at the changes on the Hill -- so many renovations, areas that simply weren't safe before now have families living in them, depressed pockets that have been resurrected, modern developments that are unfortunately threatening to destroy the traditional character of this officially designated Historic Preservation District and old buildings that have been re-purposed into residences. Although I've photographed some of them in years past, I decided to seek out these repurposed buildings again and do a small gallery of them.
