Carriage house conversion on the alley

One more carriage house on our alley, this one restored and converted into a private residence, albeit a very small one. This one still has that apparatus near the roof that I think was used for hauling hay.

I’ll be adding to this gallery as I find and photograph more buildings that have been repurposed. I have some suggestions from a real estate broker friend but simply haven’t been able to check them out.

Meanwhile, I have a sub-gallery to post from a visit to the open house of an entire schoolhouse that has been converted to condos. Sorry, even more building pictures ;-), but I honestly have nothing else new to work on at the moment. The condominium was pretty amazing, though, with a penthouse unit measuring 9,500 square feet on the market for $3,339,000, if you can believe that.

I've been enjoying your architecture shots, Helen. One of my favorite subjects. I think the alley is quaint, but I wouldn't want the trash bins around.
