When the Edmonds School was built c. 1903, it served the white community on Capitol Hill. After closing in the 1990s, the property was later occupied by the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. In 2014 the schoolhouse was converted to a 24-unit condo building.
Eight studio and one-bedroom configurations were sold at prices ranging from $389,900 to $479,900. The two-bedrooms were priced between $829,900 and $1.1 million. There is some very odd connection to row houses on either side of the schoolhouse that I guess were part of the project, with a "bridge" connecting the school/condo building to one of the townhouses. I had read about it the other day, so we went back to see what the article was talking about. I can't imagine why the residents of the condo would want to be connected to the row house (and more so, vice versa), but the article said the row houses were priced at $1.6 million...
This schoolhouse conversion is located right across the street from The Sanctuary condos in the historic church, seen in previous pictures. There are some shots of an interior at http://casriegler.com/projects/edmonds-school/
