Hakea just opening in April
This is the "Laurina" which always blooms in April here, but it seems to be
running late this year, April is nearly over! This flower is very popular
amongst the birds - they love its sweet nectar.

Making a recovery

All my roses stopped growing and performing from the excessive heat and lack of rain, but the cooler autumn days they like, and some are making buds and new leaves again. Here's one of the first, a little battle-scarred, called "Judy's Song" named for an Australian pop singer from the past.

Recovering
The pelargoniums are looking much better since the weather cooled down. They hated
the 15 days of temperatures between 35 - 41C, some might not make it, but this
particular one is producing new leaves and starting to look good again.
