Another Crab Apple in bloom
This one is called Purple Crab Apple, malus x purpurea, but its more of a magenta-pink than a purple. We replaced our silver birch trees with these crab apples - and hope one day to reap enough to make some crab apple jelly.
Rose from our son Michael.
We had a delightful surprise when a knock on the door heralded a gentleman bearing a huge basket of goodies topped by a bunch of creamy-pink roses - and a card saying "welcome home" - all arranged by our son who lives in San Francisco. This is just one of the dozen roses to share with you.
Crab apple in bloom
Rather early this year - the crab apples are usually the last to bloom - I think they're at least a month early!
