In late March 1977 I discovered an ad in my local paper the Northern Standard inviting new members to join Monaghan Camera Club. Up to that I hadn't even been aware of its existence although it had been formed the previous Autumn. At the very end of my university years I had developed an interest in photography but I just had a £3 camera to my name. So I decided to join the club and there with the help of many enthusiastic members I made steady progress. Over the intervening 40 year period many images have been taken not all of them good ones but this is an attempt to pick out what I consider to be some of the best ones.Those years have seen dramatic changes in photography and cameras. I started out with a Practice LB2 followed by the trusty Nikon FE before progressing to medium format and the Bronica ETRS. The last 10 years have seen me with a Nikon D200 followed by the Nikon D800. The banner heading here was even taken with an IPhone recently so that in itself shows the way things are going.
