Spain - Lanzarote - Timanfaya National Park - Los Hervideros with Montanas del Fuego

This stretch of Lanzarote coastline is stunning and anyone exploring Lanzarote by car or bike shouldn’t miss this section of road (LZ-703) from the Salinas de Janubio to El Golfo. The tarmac cuts a smooth path through the inhospitable lava flow, it’s no wonder car commercials have been filmed here, the road curves around the coastline framed by the deep blue sky, crashing waves and lava landscape.Los Hervideros is situated mid way along the road. There is a good sized car park for this natural attraction. The name Los Hervideros translates as the “boiling waters” and a visit here is worth timing with a high tide or full moon to experience the full power of the waves crashing into the rocky cliffs. Actually, there are no boiling waters at all. Just sea water and caves. It is so called because when waves crash into that holes a lot of white surf is produced and then it looks like water is boiling. Bizarre shaped cliffs and natural rock sculptures makes this place really stunning.Balconies have been built into the rock face which make great viewing platforms.
