Sitting on a hill overlooking Mullaghmore village in north Sligo, Classiebawn Castle dominates the landscape for miles around. Looked on as a fairytale castle by many, it is probably one of the most photographed buildings in County Sligo. Classiebawn is, today, mainly remembered as the summer residence of the late Lord Louis Mountbatten. Mountbatten loved the castle and he and his family spent every August there.
