Hermann Joseph Klein (1844-1914), Stern-Atlas.
A charming star atlas from the 19th century - not well known, so a 'little gem'.
The Atlas was first published in 1888. Although my copies have that sanme year of publication, from the text itself I conclude that it is from 1897 (or perhals a bit later).
This German atlas has been translated and adapted into English by Edmund McClure (1837-1922) for the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK).
There are three English editions: 1888 (epoch 1880), 1993 (notice by the translator dated October 1892, epoch 1880) en 1901 (preface: april 1901, epoch 1900).
Actually, one of my copies has a English sheet 7.
