But we decided to get to nearby Liverpool -- https://pbase.com/abundancetrek/liverpool -- before heading for Manchester where the RS trip began.

The RS trip began in Manchester England on June 8, 2022. Manchester is not far from the border with Wales. At the Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport we met Caroline, our always cheerful and devoted Group Leader, and our 14 wonderful fellow tour companions all from the US. After a good night’s sleep we met our extremely skilled coach driver, Andy, and boarded the coach. It only took 2 hours, mostly on a dual carriageway, to get into Wales and get to the fantastic Bodnant Garden. The coach pulled in and out came our enthusiastic Study Leader, Conway. He greeted us with a “Good Morning” in his native tongue of Welsh: “Bore Da.” At the Garden Conway soon gave his first of many lectures all of which were delivered with great enthusiasm and knowledge. Bodnant Garden is one of the premier gardens of the world and we were not let down.
