+ June 14, 2022 was the sixth day of our 8 days in Wales with our wonderful Road Scholar companions. In the morning we visited Castell Henllys Iron Age Village which is a recreation of an ancient settlement in Wales built where archeologists found considerable evidence of such a settlement. A knowlegeable and cheerful archeologist told us all about it.
We were treated to a pub lunch at the Royal Oak Retaurant in the Pembrokeshire town of Newport.
St. David's Cathedral in St. Davids was one of the highlights of the whole tour. It's an impressive church building but more important is the story of Saint David, the Patron Saint of Wales > https://www.stdavidscathedral.org.uk/. St. Davids is a market town and and a market cross is obligatory. It is the smallest city in Britain.
After dinner at the hotel we were treated to a wonderful concert by Harriet Earis, a renowned harpist and a friend of Conway. She specializes in playing the Welsh harp, a beloved instrument of the Welsh.
