+ It was June 12, 2022 and after being entertained, inspired and informed at another fine lecture by our wonderful Study Guide, Conway, we boarded the coach and headed for a narrow gauge steam train going through the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. We boarded the train in Blaenau-Ffestiniog, once known as the slate capital of the world > https://www.visitsnowdonia.info/blaenau-ffestiniog. The railway is the Ffestiniog Railway > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ffestiniog_Railway. The train took us down to the coast terminating at Porthmadog > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porthmadog.
From there we got back on the coach and went to the National Slate Museum > https://museum.wales/slate/. Much of the slate in the world has come from the Snowdonia region. I saw some good books in the Gift Shop.
We went back to our hotel and enjoyed our last evening meal at the Royal Oak Hotel in Betws-y-Coed.
