Miscellaneous Walk-Abouts

Many, if not most, times, I set out with some photographic goal: to visit a wildlife refuge or a scenic mountain view or a scenic area. My photos are generally of a specific "genre" while also telling a story of my visit.

Sometimes, though, I'll plan to diversify in a given trip. I'll set out to do more than one thing, with at least two bodies, a wide assortment of lenses, and a mindset to move from one thing to another, not in the sense of taking "snapshots", but in the sense of paying attention to more than one field of photography.

So, this is a place for "grab-bag" trips, where I am prepared for anything from landscape photography to birds in flight to airplanes in flight to macros.
