Dewey Bridge

Dewey is the site where Highway 128 crosses the Colorado River. The highway crosses on a sterile,
modern concrete bridge that is not worth anyone's attention. Just upstream from the highway is
the original (historic) bridge, which is worth a visit. It's now just for pedestrians and
bicycles. I saw the old bridge briefly in 2002, on my first visit to Utah, but took no
pictures of it becauseI was in a hurry to get to Moab. I made up for that on this trip.
However, I didn't get an all-encompassing shot of the bridge. Such a shot---from the
top of Roberts Mesa---looks like this: https://pbase.com/image/54775954 .

The bridge appears at the center of this WikiMapia aerial photo:

This was a stop in my road trip of 2004.

The Dewey bridge burned down on April 6, 2008.
