Edinburgh, York and The Yorkshire Dales

We enjoyed a week long trip to Edinburgh, Scotland and York England in the beginning of June.
We were concerned about leaving Della because she has had some health issues lately but she did great while we were gone.
She was well taken care of in our own home by a co-worker of mine.
Charlie has been to Edinburgh before so he had a good feel for the city and did a great job of taking us to all the places of interest.
After a few days in Edinburgh we took the train to York, England.
I have always wanted to see the Yorkshire Dales and we had made arrangements for a private driver and tour of that area.
We were picked up at 8:30 AM and dropped off at our hotel at 5:30 PM.
It was a wonderful day.
Our day in the Dales was the highlight of the trip and none of my photos do this beautiful area justice.
In that way it was kind of like the Grand Canyon, you need to see it in person to truly appreciate it.
There were lots of things to do in York and we enjoyed the city very much. The people were friendly and the food was good.
After York we took the train down to London and spent the afternoon walking around the Kings Cross area.
We were so tired after a week of exploring that we were happy for an early dinner and night. We flew home early the next morning.

I predicted that I'd enjoy the sights and stories in this gallery, and am also enjoying being proved correct.
I know that crossing "the pond" seems like a hike, but I envy your ability to do that for a quick, week long break. To get value for us, it's a minimum of 3 weeks (4 is better) since we burn 2 entire days travelling anyway.
