(sylvia borin)
The Garden Warbler is a common summer migrant in Scotland. It is usually a bit of a skulker keeping itself hidden in dense undergrowth. In appearance it is particularly nondescript and featureless - a good way of identifying it. However, it makes up for its nondescript appearance with a song which is as beautiful and striking as any other bird in this country. The birds in the northern isles at this time of year will be Scandinavian migrants heading south.
