What a great long weekend this turned out to be. Started off with a bang, scored American Herring Gull in Campbeltown before we jumped onto the ferry. There were many highlights on the trip but the main one was potentially being involved with finding Scotlands first ever record of Thayer's Gull along Kris Gibb & Mark Wilkinson. Its up to the powers at be to decide it's fate now. Finally getting Richardson's Cackling Goose was my main target and managed to catch up with it on Day 2. Other highlights included good numbers of White-Tailed and Golden Eagles, Hen Harriers, Merlin, Choughs, Glaucous, Iceland and Kumlien's Gulls. The Geese were superb and it was a nice change to be scanning through thousands of Greenland White-Fronts and Barnacles instead of the usual Pink-feet back home. We also had a few Brent Geese on the island and 2 Snow Geese after we seen the American Herring Gull.
