First time abroad in 3 years and although this was definitely not a birding holiday, I did manage to get out and about a few times with the camera. My only target was to see the Gran Canaria Blue Chaffinch which involved hiring a car, driving on the wrong side of the road for the first time, pretty daunting to say the least. The location was pretty remote, out in the Inagua forest near to El Juncal. After hours of searching and listening, the better half trumped me and found a male directly above our heads, this being the only bird we saw but unfortunately, no picture of it. I did get a few other new additions, Canary Islands Chiffchaff, Atlantic Canary, African Blue Tit, Plain Swift, Berthelots Pipit and believe it or not, Cory's Shearwater! A boat trip out from Puerto Rico yielded plenty of Cory's but sadly no other sea birds. Good numbers of Dolphins seen, Atlantic Spotted, Striped & Bottlenose + Loggerhead Turtle, Flying Fish and Ocean Sunfish.
