We travelled north to the towns of Sukhothai and Lampang after a couple of days in bustling Bangkok. Consisting of ancient temples (wats), "Old Sukhothai" is about 10 km away from the modern town.

We cycled to a beautiful wat about 13 km from Lampang. GPS allowed us to take minor rural roads to see some of the countryside. This mythical serpent awaited us.
