Long Island Sound Nonsuch (LISNA) last hosted a Rendezvous at the Guilford Yacht Club, Guilford CT in 1995. 9 boats sailed. Thereafter, LISNA did . . . nothing.

Arthur Langley gathered 11 boats with 9 boats competing in a 2000 Fall Rendezvous within the Fall Off Soundings Club event on East-Long Island Sound. In 2002, Jack & Jenny Lombard organized 13 boats to sail a Spring Rendezvous within that year's Off Soundings Club event on Block Island Sound in Rhode Island but bad weather 'literally blew away' many of the entries.

LISNA did nothing to follow up on and build upon these terrific individual efforts and to serve the interests of owners near and on both Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound. From 1995 to 2007, LISNA led to nowhere and to nothing. This too long 'moribund body' was, finally, buried by the INA (the Members of the INA) in March 2007.

The INA Board, thereafter, "got the idea" and "de-listed' LISNA after over a decade of listing it as though it were an active entity, apart from being printed on paper and on the INA website.

Since 2000, the 37 Narragansett Bay boats had had no annual sailing gatherings of which all boats were advised and to which all were invited.

The 17 boats in the Hudson & Jersey Shores Fleet, the 36 boats in the Buzzards, Cape & Islands Fleet the 32 boats in the Mass Bay Fleet, and the 24 boats in the New Hampshire & Maine Fleet have not been served by any local or annual gatherings afloat or ashore.

After over 200 crews were advised several times . . . on March 11 2007, 37 crew from 5 states gathered in Old Lyme CT and 'officially founded' North East Nonsuch and, there being enough local Members present, also elected Officers for the East-Long Island Sound Fleet. This needed to be done because the President and Board of the International Nonsuch Association had 'ordained' that a Northeast Nonsuch gathering of over 100 Nonsuch crew from 7 states and 3 provinces on December 2, 2006 in Mystic CT . . . was not a Nonsuch gathering but was, to quote the Mr. Cole, "an Arthur Langley event" ! lol

In March 2007, the commitment from the December 2006 meeting was repeated to organize and vitalize Nonsuch sailing up and down the northeast coast in 2007 and onwards.

SUNDAY, December 2 - 2nd Annual Winter Social & Luncheon in Mystic CT, Hilton Mystic 60 crew from 33 boats attended.
Arthur Langley again elected Commodore 2008. Commodore was voted power to appoint other officers for the Fleets and Flotillas.
