The Sail-In of boats began Saturday afternoon and all joined LUFF AFFAIR 26C and MONTROSE 30U at their home . . . . Thames Yacht Club in New London CT. There was lots of gamming overlooking the river during cocktails. A great roast beef dinner was enjoyed by our crews outside on the upper deck with wonderful views over the river.
Sunday morning coffee hour saw good discussion on the upper deck. During and after breakfast in the Club, a 'class' session reviewed sail trim, safety, and MOB issues in great depth . . . the latter including causes, possible recovery methods, and actual practical steps for recovery. All then adjourned aboard BEARCAT 30C and MONTROSE 30U for practical sail trim sessions and for a real MOB recovery of a 'victim' from the water in the Thames River.
A great lunch was enjoyed back at Thames YC. Most boats headed home after lunch.

The Thames Yacht Club, Jim Avery and the rest of their Executive, their members, and the galley staff were GREAT hosts. We all had a GREAT time. All agreed this would be a fun event to repeat in 2008.
Jim Avery invited all who so wished to sail in their Commodore's Trophy event on Saturday, September 2 and to then leave their boats . . . for no charge (!) . . . at Thames YC for the week prior to our Fall Rendezvous.
