Sail-In: crews arrive by boat for activities ashore
Social: crews arrive by land
First in late fall 2006, I encouraged and asked Marion Gropen MEANDER 36 41 to help organize a gathering, that by then was at least a decade or more overdue for anyone to host at the west end of 'the Sound'. Several more communications ensued over the months and then I heard nothing more. Bless her, Marion organized a Sail-In to Northport Yacht Club on July 21st !

After a 'meet & greet' at the Northport Yacht Club, all walked to the Tavern on The Harbor (one of the best seafood restaurants in the area!) for a lovely dinner.
"I was happy to do it. And let me encourage all the other folks out there -- this was very little effort and a lot of fun. Don't wait for someone else to set things up if you can't make some of the other get-togethers. It took a very small number of e-mails and a handful of phone calls. JUST DO IT . . . as the ads go. And it's fun to see all the heads flip when they notice a bunch of "windsurfers on steroids" !
