Shown here are borders and boundaries I have crossed: state lines, county lines, park boundaries, installation boundaries, lines of demarcation, etc. My boundary-documenting efforts at state lines have taught me that the state-sponsored “welcome to” signs are not necessarily at the state line. The position of the state line could lack room for a sign, or safety considerations (like a blind curve) could preclude the installation of a distracting sign. Maybe there are other reasons.
