While on the return leg of an exploratory hike in Salt Wash I encountered this old metal fence post with a boundary sign dangling therefrom. I placed the sign in the position seen here so it would be easy to read. I saw another post off to the west. The two posts showed the alignment of an east-west boundary line that I think became moot when the park was enlarged to include Lost Springs Canyon, northeast of here. There were no other signs of the boundary---no wires, no fence, no other posts.
The black bands on the bamboo hiking stick are 12 inches (30 cm) apart.
