I am straddling a survey marker that designates the border between Idaho (at right) and Utah. My pose was an attempt to be evenly divided between the two states. “Reversed” in the title refers to the fact that my body is flipped from what it was at the Idaho-Utah border in 2012. A barbed-wire fence runs for miles along the east-west border in the background.
This is farming and ranching country just south of Strevell, Idaho, a site along SR 81. The main highway in these parts---Interstate 84---is 18.5 miles (30km) to the east (behind the camera).
I would not have been able to take this picture without the rock-steady help of Ralph Tripod, who assists me in such efforts when they are close to the car. He was standing on the shoulder of the road, which here is the junction of Idaho SR 81 and Utah SR 42.
