The Ruhr region is one of the five largest conurbations in Europe (beside Istanbul, Moscow, London and Paris) and is home to approximately 5.2 million people.

Over decades, the region has transformed itself from a coal and steel industrial site to a service and culture-oriented metropolis.

This will be an open project for the next years and I`ll start this gallery with the impressions of my very first trip at the end of july 2013.
