==Tahiti Islands== < Bora Bora > < Huahine > < Mo`orea > < Tahiti > Mo'orea is the smaller sister island of Tahiti. It is widely considered the quiet and relaxing place, compared to the traffic jams on Tahiti. The island is blessed by two magnificent bays, the Opunohu and Cooks Bay. Jagged shapes of volcanoes building the interior of the Island will make you speechless. The famous Tiki Village on the west side of the island near Nuurua provides Tahitian shows and has a nice exhibition of Gauguin paintings. However, we found es difficult to reach shoreline along the entire west side. Excessive fencing and even barb wire spoils the impression of a paradise. In addition, we have also on Mo'orea encountered numerous lose running dogs charging at visitors, and this is definitely a no no. This issue with dogs on Tahiti Islands definitely calls for a solution. Regardless all these factors, the landscape of Mo`orea is of an unquestionable beauty, keep this island on your "must see" list of places. |
