Mikayla On Flower
This photo, shot in 2008 reminds Carol and me of our granddaughter, Mikayla. So naturally I have to name the little figure Mikayla. Do you forgive me, Kayla? LOL I love the photo and its colors, etc. Nice to see on this cloudy day. Brighter days are coming!

Portrait on a Covered Bridge
Another photo from the past that strikes me now. This is one of a series of photos I shot for the son of acquaintances who wanted some graduation photos for his graduation from high school. His choice of setting was the Goodpasture Covered Bridge on the McKenzie River and along the McKenzie Highway in Oregon. I love this bridge and evidently so did he. The shot was made with my all-time favorite camera, the Nikon D3, on September 21, 2008. This shot was not used till now.

A Favorite, The "Great" Egret!
I have always loved the big birds, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, and others, and especially when they show their wingspread. It reveals the intricate details of the way they are made. They are marvels of flight and are perfect for it. They can glide with such beauty. And it is amazing that these large birds weigh only five pounds or so. Human designers can only copy the wisdom seen in nature to improve their own creations for flight.

Spotted Towhee
I liked how this Towhee was posed in among the twigs. Here in Western Oregon it is difficult to get shots of birds with uncluttered backgrounds, since they prefer perches in trees with plenty of twigs and branches on them. I figured there is nothing better than a natural setting, so I didn't try to clone them out. I think they are beautiful birds and we see lots of them in the winter and early spring. This photo was made in 2017.

Belladonna Lily
In our yard in town, we had a gorgeous flower that sprang up suddenly and bloomed every year after that. It is the Belladonna Lily (nicknamed 'Naked Lady'). I think it was planted in past years by the previous owners. To me, it is one of the most beautiful of all flowers, which were put here for us to enjoy. I treasure this lovely specimen of the Belladonna.
I love to capture subjects in dramatic lighting when when photographing, if that is possible.

The beautiful designs in nature - Spiderweb
I never fail to be amazed at the beautiful designs in nature. Something more than blind chance is evident here. Water drops on a spider web make for a gorgeous string of pearls! I feel blessed to copy this artwork in a photograph. Don't you think it is awesome? Thanks for looking.

Bee On Tulip
I love purple tulips, when ours first comes up it is a deep purple but colors fade some in the sun. When this bee landed on the flower I couldn't resist getting a photo. The picture was shot with an old Nikon D1x in 2014.
