In 2019 I once again realized that I'd never seen a zoo or aquarium in a city I know pretty well. To my surprise there were several of the latter, and one of them had a Marmaray stop of its own. My hotel is 1 minute from another Marmaray stop, so this one was my choice.

On its site you can read "The Biggest Thematic Aquarium Of The World. In comparison to other aquariums of its class containing fish species living in the world’s seas, it is the newest with its travel route, thematization, interactivity, rainforest and cutting-edge technology. [ ...] The visitors, by following a geographical route, travel on a route that hosts 17themes and 1 rainforest going from the Black Sea towards the Pacific."

I found taking pictures of fishes behind thick glass somehow fooled my camera (and/or me), many pictures are of poor quality. But I think I show the displays are fine, and in particular for kids it must be wonderful. Some "fish tanks" were astoundingly large. People told me that some aquariums are larger, more varied, so I think it is the "thematic" element that count heavily in the description above. I enjoyed my visit. In future I'll take a look at some other aquariums in town.
