While the missiles and airstrikes were often mentioned in the news, I made a trip to Israel. I'm glad that I did.

The tour started at Jerusalem, a really interesting city. There's a lot to see, from history to culture to various sacred sites. My group followed our guide to walk through the 4 Quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem: Muslim, Christian, Armenian and Jewish, passing by a few Stations of the Cross, entering different churches and synagogues. I witnessed how the pilgrims knelt and kissed the Stone of Anointing, the place where the body of Jesus Christ was laid down after being removed from the crucifix and prepared for burial. I also saw how the Jewish people fervently prayed at the Wailing Wall. At both of these moments I was deeply moved by their strong faith in their religion belief.

The light show at the Citadel of David was splendid and stunning, something not to be missed. Photography is not allowed during the show, but even if they let you do it, you wouldn't know where to aim your camera at, for they cast the lights on the gigantic stone walls to illustrate the history of Israel throughout centuries.
