Masada was my second reason for this trip, not only for the landscape of the isolated cliff overlooking the Dead Sea, but also for the sad history behind it.

The mass suicide of the Jewish people who took their own lives here to show their determination not to become captives of the Roman conqueror made this brave act a remarkable Jewish pride.
