Bharatpur-Agra

On day 7, we visited Bharatpur bird reserve early in the morning, then went by coach to the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri before continuing to Agra. After lunch, we toured the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. Actually being in front of the Taj Mahal was an awesome experience. Nothing prepares you for its size or its magnificence. At the Red Fort, it was moving to see the octagonal tower in which Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal, was imprisoned by his son and to see his view down the river to the Taj, tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
