Landscaping Prelude: Waiting & Waiting

With a paid landscape designer and a landscape company (working on their schedule) this time around,
the project has been moving a whole lot slower than landscaping our property was back when we first build our home eons ago.

*************************
I did ALL the original design, and my husband did ALL his own labor 30 years ago. It was an exciting time when I was still in my 20's. But time and weather damage together have now indicated that it is time to redo parts of our front yard. Rather than tackle the task ourselves this time around, we decided to hire a landscape company. The one we signed a contract with is an excellent and reliable company. However, things don't seem to be moving forward. That feels very discouraging.

The project isn't any bigger this time than it was 30 years ago. It's actually much smaller, since nothing new will be added to the West side of the Property nor to the backyard. On top of that, my husband has even removed all the old plants (to be replaced) himself. He has also installed the new water feature so that the landscapers won't have to do it. Plus, he installed our new iron entry gate himself this Summer as part of the landscaping project. All we need now is the landscape designer to please me (not just herself), some plants that will survive in our climate, and those plants put into the ground. Plus of course, we still need the stone mulch for the different beds and the courtyard. All this is supposed to be the landscape company's job which we have paid for. Everything was basically ready to go in the Spring of 2024. Now, it's up to the landscape folks to do their part. Meanwhile, delays with the landscaping company keep pushing doing things out more and more.

A 2024 Spring project has turned into a 2025 project. I don't understand why working with a dedicated landscaper for really big $$$$ has caused a year's delay... And I mean really BIG $$$$$. It is very upsetting to be no farther along in late Fall 2024 than we were back in early Spring 2024. And now still working with the designer (different one) on trying to get something done before Summer 2025

The only work that has been done so far is the work my husband did himself in 2023 and 2024.
We'll now see where this gallery eventually takes us in 2025. Hopefully, there will be an end point with everything getting properly done.
