Late, late Saturday night (20 August 2016) we arrived on an Emirates flight from Dubai, and a pre-booked van and driver took us to our hotel. The following morning I set out to do an early morning photo shoot, and to just spend some "alone time" with my home town. I returned to the hotel, and we had breakfast in the hotel dining room. After that it was time to hop a taxi down to the Colosseum, the starting point of a tour that I booked for us. The Colosseum, followed by the Roman Imperial Forums (or some of them), and finally the possible villa of Augustus, the first Roman emperor.

This gallery tells the story of that day, or as much of it as I was able to shoot of it before running out of photographic gas.

Now I just need to build a time machine to go back and point out to myself "If you don't shoot this stuff? You'll regret it forever." And especially when I'm writing this coming up to 8 years later.
