I've stayed in far more luxurious hotels, and I've stayed in larger hotels. I've certainly stayed in ones which are more centrally located and more accessible to public transport. (Though there are buses within a couple of streets. Unlike the Metro though, Rome buses often leave a tad to be desired.)

None of that matters. I liked this hotel. I liked Antonio on the front desk who pointed us to the restaurant that we dined at that night. (Was there an "arrangement" there? Don't know, don't care, because it was such a goooood restaurant.) The caretaker who came to fix the broken bed was a tad grumpy (if you're a fan of The West Wing this was not a "Hurricane Santos" incident), and the available food and drinks were limited, but on balance I'd be happy to stay here again some time.

If only it were easier to get to...
