Wagtails and Pipits
All the species found in Borneo are winter visitors.

The actions of all species of wagtails other than the strange Forest Wagtail on the ground and in the air are similar. The gait is a brisk walk and run, with a backward and forward motion of the head and a constant up and down movement of the tail; little flutters are frequently made into the air after passing insect. The flight is strongly undulating, in long curves. They perch freely on bushes and trees. On first arrival in Borneo, and again just before they leave, the plumage may be close to the full breeding plumage markedly different from the winter dress which they wear for most of their stay.

The pipits are streaky-brown birds and the various species can only be distinguished in the field with practice. (Smythies, the Birds of Borneo, 1999)
