After a very comfortable nights rest, we of course had to take advantage one last time of the restaurant! Tummies full, we all hoisted our packs and set out by 8:30. The first half of the day was a gradual ascent and today was the day that we began meeting folks we'd run into earlier in the trip. It was kind of fun recognizing faces we'd seen before and comparing notes. We stopped at Reflection Lakes for a lunch break and naturally, the mountain was clouded in. A tenacious Stellar's Jay was determined to steal some food, but we fought him off. Down the trail a short way, we did have nice views of Louise Lake, and hiked right by 2 waterfalls. At Maple Creek camp, we were entertained first by a bat fluttering around our heads, and later by a couple of guys we'd passed earlier in the trip. They were highly interested in the prospect of a room at Longmire and asked many questions - chiefly, is there availability tomorrow night?? We did a good sales job and they decided to go for it - hopefully, it worked out for them. As usual, we were settled in the tent by about 7:15.
