On October 3rd, 2006, I took possession of a Sony Cybershot DSC-H1. In 2005 it sold for $500 new, even now it commonly goes for $275 or more used. I got it with a 512 Memory Stick Pro card for only $175.(!!)
It's a great "everyday" camera. It has 5 megapixels, 12x zoom (all optical, none of it digital), image stabilization, 2½" screen, uses 2 AA's, and has easy access to "photographer's controls", respectable 800x600 movie mode--yet it comes in a surprisingly light/portable package.
Even as I'm a happy d-SLR shooter, I had wanted this model since finding out about it last year. When I saw this deal at Craigslist.Org (Dallas) 9-19-2006 for only $175, I knew I had to go for it. We kept it until summer 2007 when I sold it to finance the purchase of a D40, in May 2008 I purchased the H1's successor, the Sony H2. (I did so at an even bigger bargain, paying $150 for it including 2 Gigabytes worth of memory.)previous page | pages 1 2 ALL | next page |
