Puhoi is a little town with an unusual history worth googling for. Apart from the history, Puhoi interested us because of the canoe trips provided by a local couple. Puhoi is at the tidal limit of a river, and the tide provides a useful part of the effort of canoeing up or down the 12 Km from the sea. We were provided with buoyancy vests, tuition, instructions, a two-person canoe and transport down river. Then we had two or three hours to paddle our canoe back up to Puhoi on a rising tide. Pictures from the canoe were taken with my waterproof camera. The last two pictures here were taken some days later from the road overlooking where we paddled.
