Then we flew to the historical and glorious Xian, capital of Shaanxi Province, as well as a past imperial capital for multi dynasties. My tour had a special arrangement to let the American tour mates mingle with the locals in a park, doing folk dance early in the morning. We also had a memorable walk on the wide and sturdy city wall, the most complete one in China.
